Budget

Budgetary Considerations

Although Switzerland is known to be an expensive country, there are many ways in which to make your stay affordable, even if you have a relatively small budget.

Meals
Lunches and Dinners are taken on an individual basis (except for the Conference Dinner). There is a restaurant at the Congress Center, but there are many other options in close vicinity, inexpensive options, like Take Aways or Supermarkets, where you can buy sandwiches and spend the lunch time e.g. in the park at the lake front.
We made special arrangements with a number of restaurants that offer quality food at affordable prices, e.g. platter of pasta & drink for 12 CHF (~ 7 USD).

Accommodations
In addition we offer low cost housing:

* dormitory / backpacker (6 – 8 people/room/night including breakfast) 28 – 37 CHF
* student house / simple hotel (1 – 4 people/room/night including breakfast) 35 – 52 CHF

In order to book, please follow the link (bookings are handled on a first come, first served basis and you need to be registered in order to book).

Low Cost Housing Information

Lugano is a small city. Most places in the city are within walking distance, or can easily be reached by public transportation, i.e. there is no need to spend money on taxis.

Registration Waiver
In special circumstances, we offer registration waivers for participants from remote and / or economically disadvantaged areas. These are granted based on the demonstated achievements of the applicant. Applications should include:

* cover letter with a brief statement regarding the financial situation of the applicant
* C.V. and a list of the most recent / relevant publications
* abstract for a poster presentation must have been submitted

No further applications for registration waivers can be accepted!
Please use e-mail whenever possible, fax is also possible
